Hey everyone!!

It's been awhile, but don't worry! We have been working behind-the-scenes and are making a lot of progress. I wanted to come back and drop some art for the game and the final character designs for some of our favorite main characters. Sadly (only for me 😂), all of the Death Note sprites that were placeholders have been replaced by the actual character sprites, but the visual aspect of the game is really coming together now! We had several runs of different UI options as well, and we are finalizing some of those game designs for the actual demo.

The artists have been working like crazy, and we really hope you like these designs! These characters have so much life and interesting characteristics to them, and we hope that as we reveal more of the game and you guys get to play and get to know these characters, they become as endearing to you as they have been to us 😊.

Our UI has definitely gone through a lot of ideas and changes, mostly with the idea that Annie wanted the backgrounds to have a watercolor-y  dreamy less-defined style, with the UI having the more defined, Art Deco flairs. Annie really wanted the main character, Orven, to have an accent backdrop, that was inspired by Art Deco patterns and colors. It's been super interesting to see the evolution of the UI and the sprite/background art come together, and honestly, I think everything looks fantastic.

Our background artist is also phenomenal, and I just wanted to include a sketch of hers that shows perspective and some of the artistic decisions we are choosing to make in regards to what the gameplay will look like.
